How can Doctoral Supervisors support the PhD Internship?

  • Students value the advice that comes from their programs, so please encourage your doctoral students to sign up for the Graduate Student Internship Program and review the opportunities that are posted to the portal.
  • Review the internship opportunities available to doctoral students (please contact hirewesternu@uwo.ca for access to the Graduate Student Internship portal).
  • Help make the connection between internship opportunities and candidates that possess the desired skill-set outlined by an employer.
  • Openly discuss whether or not the student is in good academic standing and meet the graduate program requirements for progression towards their degree.
  • Sign the Document of Support for students that have been offered an internship
